Aside from the basics of mowing and watering, the single most important thing you can do for your lawn is to provide proper nutrition by fertilizing. That's because no soil, even the richest top soil, contains sufficient nutrients to produce an attractive lawn. Most homeowners nowadays realize that fertilizing is important. So they feed their lawn occasionally, maybe once or twice a year.
One or two feedings make a marked improvement in the grass, but no lawn fed once or twice a year can ever look its best. That's because grass can't thrive on a feast-or-famine diet and one or two feedings a year means that the lawn is going hungry much of the time. To develop fully, grass must have a continuous supply of nutrients throughout the growing season...from spring through fall. We include extras like our double overlap application technique to ensure even growth and thickening without unsightly streaking or spotting off your lawn.
We follow a 5 times per year fertilization program which takes care of everything that your lawn needs in order to stay healthy.
First Application: Early Spring
- A pre-emergent crabgrass application is applied combined with a regular fertilizer to boost the speed of growth in your lawn.
- 19-0-6 Dimension
Second Application: Late Spring /Early Summer
- A weed and insect control is applied for present weeds and insects.
- An additional feed fertilizer accompanies.
- 20-4-10 with Dimension .13%
Third Application: Early Summer
- An application of slow release organic fertilizer is applied to ensure
continued growth through the dry season and kill all grubs which reside
under the lawn surface before they damage the turf. The lawn fertilizer has to be geared towards the species common in Midwest.
- Spot weeding is also applied for any present weeds and crabgrass.
- 25-2-5 1% Fe
Fourth Application: Early Fall
- A second application of organic fertilizer is applied to green up the
lawn as the season embarks into the wet and cool part of the year.
- 25-2-5 1% Fe
Fifth Application: Late Fall/ Winter
- A winterizer fertilizer is applied to prepare the lawn for another
harsh Mid West winter.
- This application helps provide nutrients to the roots of the grass
as it enters its dormant stage.
- At this time any lawns requiring a balanced pH level are treated with lime.
- 25-2-5 1% Fe
